The court in Cherkasy decided to send Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv under round-the-clock house arrest with an electronic bracelet. This was reported by the press service of the diocese.

According to the court decision, such a measure of restraint will be valid for 60 days.

As reported by the UOJ, in February 2023, SBU officers opened criminal proceedings against Metropolitan Theodosiy under Art. 161 of the Criminal Code (inciting interfaith hatred).

On April 6, representatives of the SBU informed Metropolitan Theodosiy of suspicion of “creating a website for the diocese following the template of the Russian Orthodox Church.” The bishop is charged with committing a crime under Part 2 and Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
