The proposal of the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko to locate a rehabilitation centre or a centre of folk crafts on the territory of the Lower Lavra has nothing to do with common sense, said the head of the Synodal Information Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Clement, in an interview with "Strana".

Commenting on the decisions of the Ministry of Culture on the Kyiv Caves Monastery, the UOC hierarch noted that they "have nothing in common with either Ukrainian law or with the fundamentals for any civilized society principles of human rights”.

"It seems to me that today it is becoming quite clear for the society that the blatant unprofessionalism in the decisions of the same scale by the Ministry of Culture officials is shown not only in the stupid and illegal rulings concerning the Lavra but also in all other issues of their activities at the expense of the Ukrainian budget," the bishop added.

As reported, the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko spoke about the future of the Lower Lavra after the expulsion of the UOC.
