"Priest" of the OCU, rector of the ecumenist institution "Open Orthodox University of St. Sophia the Wisdom", Georgy Kovalenko expressed his conviction that the "Orthodox Church of Belarus" is already a reality.
“The Orthodox Church of Belarus is a reality now, albeit still unconscious and unorganized,” the former cleric of the UOC wrote on his Facebook page on Monday, August 10, 2020.
With such a statement, Kovalenko accompanied a "flash mob", launched on the eve of the presidential elections in Belarus, calling for "fair elections without falsifications", which states that "Orthodox Christians are against whatever falsification, humiliation and pressure on individuals."
We will recall that the OCU was also advised to go to the protests in Minsk "for the prayer to be hot".
As the UOJ reported earlier, Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl’, the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, called on all citizens of the country to maintain mutual respect, not to succumb to provocative calls and not to embark on the path of violence and confrontation.
