Bohdan Vakaliuk, a Ukrainian warrior, an adopted son of the abbot of the UOC Bancheni Monastery Metropolitan Longin, called on the Ukrainian authorities to stop the persecution of his father, faith and the Church. He said this in an appeal published on the YouTube channel "Bancheni Monastery".

He recalled that Metropolitan Longin has been raising children with disabilities for many years, helping them with education, jobs and housing.

"Who among you could perform his duties? I am just shocked at what is happening. I am very grateful to him; I love him very much. If I get a chance, I will give him a big hug and say, 'Daddy, I'm home.’ He prays for me, he's waiting for me at home," said Vakaliuk.

The Ukrainian defender noted that despite his place of duty, he will always support his father, no matter where he is or what condition he is in.

"And the fact that I am a serviceman, I will always have my opinion. If you want, catch me, but I have expressed my opinion. I have nothing against my country. But I can say against those evil people who mock faith and religion. Why do you do that? Look in the mirror, ask yourself who you are. Moskals have come to our land, but we are doing our duty, our utmost! How many of my brothers-in-arms have died? You're talking nonsense," he added.

As reported, Metropolitan Longin said he would not admit the suspicion against him.
