The representative of the Ministry of Culture commission appealed to the police officers to “take preventive measures” against the “unknowns” who blocked access to the buildings of the Lavra. This is reported by the UOJ correspondent.
According to the Acting Director of the Reserve Maxym Ostapenko, the Monastery “was notified” that on July 4 the commission would seal the buildings of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and even allegedly agreed to such actions.
However, as another representative of the commission noted, "unknown"people impede the work of the Ministry of Culture, thus "committing an offense."
“We would like the police to take some preventive measures and, perhaps, be able to establish what kind of people they are, what their purpose is, why they are here, and, if possible, stop the offense that is happening now. If the offense that is now ongoing is not stopped, we will file (an application - Ed.),” he said.
As the UOJ reported, a commission of the Ministry of Culture came to the Lavra to seal the buildings.
