Against the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko, who wrote a letter of resignation, a criminal case on the fact of embezzlement of budget funds is opened, reports Telegram-channel "Kyiv News" with reference to the media.
No additional details about the criminal case against Tkachenko have not yet been reported.
It should be noted that on 20 July 2023, the head of the Ministry of Culture wrote a resignation. A few hours before that, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address asked the head of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider replacing Tkachenko.
The Minister of Сulture himself said that he had to take such a step because of "a wave of misunderstanding about the importance of culture during the war".
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada said that Tkachenko had "introduced political censorship" in the country and was engaged in "the most disgusting share-out during the war".
