In Bucha, Kyiv region, local residents wearing shorts, who gathered in Kyiv Square, "transferred" the church of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God from the UOC to the OCU.
"The assembly took place not at the church, but in Kyiv Square, and signatures were put by all who wished to participate. Activists spoke with traditional rhetoric about Moscow's influence and a full-scale intervention," reports a UOJ correspondent.
"According to the vote count commission, 337 people out of 348 present voted in favour of the 'transition’. There were 11 votes against," said the Bucha Town Council, adding that "during the assembly, they voted to address the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the Verkhovna Rada regarding the prohibition of the UOC in the territory of Ukraine".
As previously reported, the Bucha residents gathered in the square for the "transition" of the UOC parish to the OCU.
