Lavra abbot operated on in cardiology department of hospital

On 14 August 2023, the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, underwent surgery in the capital hospital, reports the abbot’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, on his Telegram channel.
"Metropolitan Pavel was urgently hospitalised today in the cardiology department of one of the hospitals of the city of Kyiv and underwent surgical intervention," wrote the lawyer.
As reported, on 7 August 2023, Metropolitan Pavel was released from the detention centre on bail.
