On August 15, 2023, a man who had previously sprayed human rights activist Viktoriya Kokhanovska with gas attacked Hierodeacon Titus and another archimandrite of the UOC on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The UOJ was informed about this by the affected monk of the monastery.
He said that around 20:00 the activist ran up to the brethren of the Lavra, began to push and insult one of the inhabitants.
After the skirmish began, Fr. Titus ran up to the monks, near whom stood the opponent of the UOC, and urged the activist to calm down.
According to the hierodeacon, at that moment the assailant approached him from behind and hit him on the legs.
“He was immediately arrested by the police. I was asked to write a statement. Since I had only minor injuries, the police spoke with the attacker and let him go,” he said.
As the UOJ reported, in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, an activist attacked Viktoria Kokhanovska with a gas canister.
