On 25 August at about 16:00 in front of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a prayer service for Ukraine began, reports the Telegram channel "Miryany".
The service is led by the abbot of the Trinity Monastery of St. Jonas, Archbishop Jonas of Obukhiv.
Orthodox believers pray for peace and victory of Ukraine, for Ukrainian soldiers and for all those affected by the war. Among the participants of the prayer service are servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The prayer continues until 19:00.
As the Lavra's press service informs, prayer services at the walls of the shrine are held daily.
"At a difficult time for the holy monastery in connection with the ban on visiting the ancient monastery everyone who wants to pray in front of the shrine has the opportunity to participate in the services held at the entrance to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra," reads the message.
Daily divine services are held in the temples of St. Agapitus of the Caves and St. Sergius of Radonezh, as well as near these temples in the evening.
As reported, on Ukraine's Independence Day, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, led a prayer service at the St Agapitus Church in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
