Pope Francis called Russia a country of great humanity and called on Russian youth to bear in mind the greatness of their state. The head of the RCC stated this at an online meeting with Russian Catholics, the website of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow reports.
“Always remember your legacy. You are the heirs of great Russia: great Russia of saints, rulers, great Russia of Peter I, Catherine II, that empire – great, enlightened (country – Ed.), great culture, and great humanity. Never give up this legacy, you are the heirs of the great Mother Russia, go ahead with it. And thank you. Thank you for your way of being, for your way of being Russians,” Pope Francis told the Russians.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Pope agreed with the President of Hungary to work to achieve peace in Ukraine.
