Heads and "hierarchs" of OCU and UGCC hold joint memorial service

On November 28, 2020, on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of Holodomor Victims, the leaders and “hierarchs” of the OCU and the UGCC held a joint funeral service in Kyiv. The online broadcast of the event was published on the official pages of Epiphany Dumenko and Sviatoslav Shevchuk on Facebook. The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.

A joint memorial service with the Uniates took place at the memorial sign "Candle of Memory" on the territory of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide in Kyiv. Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Epiphany Dumenko, as well as other representatives of the OCU and the UGCC, were in liturgical vestments. 

According to the press service of the UGCC, “at the end of the prayer, the words of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky sounded in the recording”, after which “the primates of the Churches and all participants in the joint prayer” joined the All-Ukrainian action “Light a Candle”.

As reported, earlier the representatives of the OCU, UGCC and RCC held a joint ecumenical prayer service in the Greek Catholic Church in Ivano-Frankivsk.
