MP from the "Voice" faction Yulia Klymenko collected 226 signatures under an appeal to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk demanding that Bill No. 8371, which would ban the UOC, be submitted to parliament for consideration. Klimenko wrote about this on her Facebook page.

Let us note that in order for the bill to be adopted in the first reading, at least 226 MPs must vote for it.

The parliamentarians’ appeal states that the ban on the UOC ostensibly “complies with the norms of international law in the field of freedom of conscience, the activities of religious organizations and the international obligations of Ukraine.”

Let us remind you that Eurosolidarity deputy Iryna Herashchenko said that Ukraine’s allies expressed concern about the ban on the UOC.

As the UOJ reported, the head of the Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy called for putting pressure on MPs to force them to ban the UOC.
