Police refuse to investigate hate speech by Bukovyna journalists
Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny
The police did not open criminal proceedings against journalists of the Bukovyna-based resources “Chas” and “Bukinfo” following a complaint by Bancheny Metropolitan Longin, reports the Mass Media Institute.
In response to the request, the law enforcers noted that they had considered the bishop's application in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On the appeal of citizens" and "in connection with the absence of signs of a criminal offence" stopped the check.
"The applicant was recommended to apply to the court on this matter in the order of civil legislation of Ukraine," reads the response.
In June 2023, Metropolitan Longin appealed to the police because journalists called him one of the "Moscow priests" who "oppose the state, guiding Rashist missiles at Ukrainian cities, kill Ukrainian people, children, consecrate weapons and Russian fascists, themselves take up arms and fight against Ukraine".
