Antioch Patriarch supports the creation of independent state in Palestine

On October 16, 2023, Patriarch John of Antioch, speaking at a conference organized by the University of Balamand in Lebanon, said that he supports the desire of the Palestinians to create their own state, reports orthodoxianewsagency.gr.

“We support the Palestinians’ right to their own land and to actually establish their own state. We stand in solidarity with those who suffer,” said Patriarch John.

He stressed that peace between Israel and Palestine “cannot be achieved through the corpses of innocent children, women and civilians.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to Patriarch John, Palestine was crucified because of the interests of other states.
