"Servant of the People" & "EU" suggest celebrating Brest Union anniversary

Representatives of the “Servant of the People” and “European Solidarity” parties proposed to celebrate the 425th anniversary of the Brest Union in 2021, reports the resource “Strana”.

A group of people's deputies submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on memorable dates for 2021. Among the memorable dates worthy, according to the authors, of the celebration at the state level, is the 425th anniversary of the Brest Union, after which the Greek Catholic Church was created and the process of Catholicization of the population of Ukraine began.

The team of deputies who prepared the document included: Vladimir Viatrovich, Sofia Fedyna, Nikita Poturaev, Eugenia Kravchuk and others.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the theologian of the OCU told when his structure would merge with the UGCC.
