The vast majority of Ukrainians celebrate Christmas on January 7th. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the Sociological Group "Rating" conducted on January 2-4, 2021.
According to data published on January 5, 77% of respondents indicated that they celebrate Christmas on January 7, 15% - that they celebrate the feast twice (according to the Julian and Gregorian calendar), and only 3% of respondents celebrate only on December 25.
The fact that they do not celebrate the holiday of the Nativity of Christ at all was reported by 5% of the respondents.
The survey was conducted on January 2–4 using the CATI method (telephone interviews using a computer). 2,500 respondents aged 18 and over were interviewed in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass. The error in the representativeness of the study is no more than 2%.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Verkhovna Rada made Catholic Christmas an all-Ukrainian day-off.
