Rumours that the abbot of the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra, Metropolitan Vladimir (Moroz), is hospitalized ill, are unreliable, the hierarch himself said in a statement on the Lavra's website.

"Dear brothers and sisters, in recent days, information has been spread about my physical condition, namely: that I am ill and in hospital," the message said.

Metropolitan Vladimir stressed that these were false rumours and that everything was fine with him.

“I am heartily grateful for the holy prayers and indifference to me. A low bow to everybody," said the bishop. He asked to check up such information at the official website of the monastery in the future.

Taking the opportunity, the abbot of the Pochaiv Lavra on behalf of the brethren congratulated the faithful on Christmas and wished "God's blessing on a pious and good life in the glory of the Newborn Christ Child".

As reported, Metropolitan Vladimir of Pochaiv celebrated the 20th anniversary of his ordination as a bishop.
