People's Deputy from "Holos" Yaroslav Yurchyshyn stated that bill No. 8371 on banning the UOC needs to be revised for the second reading so that it can "withstand" European courts. He said this on the air of "Hromadske Radio".

According to him, international partners "clearly do not fully understand the complexity of the situation" with the activities of the UOC, so experts are involved in refining the law.

Yurchyshyn also noted that he hopes for the adoption of the bill in the second reading already in December 2023.

"I really hope that we will be ready to make decisions somewhere in December. The committee should work very fruitfully for a month. Attract experts in the field to develop an optimal law and, by the end of the year, proceed to voting or start a discussion on adoption in the second reading," he added.

As reported by the UOJ, Mykyta Poturaev stated that the bill banning the UOC will be "strengthened" by the provisions of the Kniazhytsky and SBU projects.

Recall, MPs introduced 1,200 amendments to the bill providing for the ban on the UOC.
