A TV presenter of one of the largest Romanian TV channels Realitatea Plus called on residents from all corners of Romania to come out for a peaceful protest at the Ukrainian Embassy in Bucharest on Friday, 17 November, at 11:00.
She noted that at the rally people should demand that the Ukrainian authorities ensure the safety of Metropolitan Longin's life, his freedom, as well as the rights of Romanians on the territory of Ukraine.
According to the presenter, the Ukrainian authorities will arrest the UOC bishop on 17 November.
"Ukraine should fight against the Russian army, not against its civilians. <...> If Ukraine fails to ensure the rights of its citizens to life, religion and basic human rights and freedoms, Romania should host all the persecuted, but at the same time – stop financial and military aid to Ukraine, as this country cannot ensure elementary human rights," she added.
The presenter also called on the Romanian authorities to block Kyiv's accession to the EU if the persecution of clergymen in Ukraine does not stop.
Earlier, armed law enforcers cordoned off the Bancheny Monastery.
As reported, a Romanian MP called for the return of Bukovyna because of the SBU attack on the Bancheny Monastery.
