Metropolitan Pavel, the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, thanked the faithful from all over the world for their support, which they expressed to the persecuted bishops of the UOC. He said this in an address before the court session, which was published on his Telegram channel by KDAiS student Mykhailo Pratsiuk.

"Dear bishops, fathers, brothers, monastics, parishioners of the holy Lavra and Orthodox Christians from all over the world. They write to me and tell me that the whole Orthodox people are praying for us. I am very grateful to you for your prayers. Through your prayers, I live. You support me, Vladyka Theodosius, Vladyka Longin," the bishop said.

Metropolitan Pavel also said that every day he prays for the preservation of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and asks the Lord to keep all believers in the Church.

"I believe that the Lord will not allow mocking the holy Lavra, and the Mother of God will keep us safe," he added.

As reported, the SBU has referred the case of the Lavra abbot Metropolitan Pavel to court.
