The draft legislative changes, proposed by the deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk, contains a clause on the possibility of legalizing euthanasia and assistance in committing suicide, reports the Judicial-Legal Gazette.

The authors of the Concept of Renewal of the Civil Code of Ukraine (Stefanchuk wrote it with colleagues) propose "to reconsider the issue of the possibility of legalizing passive euthanasia and assisted suicide".

In parallel with such reforms of the Civil Code, corresponding changes must be made to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the authors of the Concept note.

Legalization of these types of murder should be carried out "in accordance with the practice of the European Court of Human Rights".

As reported earlier, the Netherlands will legalize the euthanasia of children aged 1-12.
