In Novoaleksandrovka, St. Theodosius of Chernihiv Church is on fire

On January 19, 2021, on the feast of the Theophany of the Lord, in the village of Novoaleksandrovka, Dnipropetrovsk region, the UOC temple of St. Theodosius of Chernihiv caught fire.

According to the press centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the fire started at 13:40. 35 personnel and 6 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

At 15:20, rescuers managed to localise the fire in an area of 800 square meters.

According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or injuries.

“What caused such a strong fire is still unknown. But eyewitnesses report that something exploded inside. Local residents help to take icons and everything valuable out of the church. Soon 2 domes may collapse,” writes the local Internet resource “Nashe Misto”, which published a video from the scene.

We recall that on the night of January 18, a fire broke out on the territory of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UOC in vlg. Termakhivka, Kyiv region.
