Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkasy visited two Cherkasy hospitals where beaten and crippled defenders of the Monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos seized by OCU representatives on 20 November 2023 are being treated, reports the eparchy’s website. The bishop received for this purpose the permission of the Sosnovsky District Court of Cherkasy.
According to the eparchy, "Fr Serhiy Pashchenko, who cannot speak and who will have to undergo several more operations to implant titanium plates in the bones of the skull, requires special attention because he was beaten especially mercilessly".
With the blessing of Metropolitan Feodosiy, the Cherkasy Eparchial Office is covering the costs of treatment and medical rehabilitation of the victims and their legal support in the courts. But if someone personally wishes to help, the eparchy publishes the victims' requisites.
As reported, as a result of a brutal attack by people in camouflage with chains, scissors and other objects, clerics and parishioners of the monastery received fractures, concussions, bruises and lacerations.
