During a press conference of the Cherkasy diocese of the OCU, dedicated to the "anti-crisis" due to the forcible seizure by individuals in camouflage of the UOC Nativity of the Virgin Mary Convent, Myroslav Taranenko, a lawyer for this structure, stated that those willing to move towards the "bright future" with the OCU should boldly transition to the OCU and not fear legal proceedings, as reported by Suspilne.
In response to a journalist's question about what should be done by people ready to start the process of transferring a UOC community to the OCU but are afraid of legal entanglements, Taranenko replied that there is no need to fear.
"The legal entanglement, as you call it, can be 'made up out of thin air'," the lawyer dismissed. In his opinion, those who are ready to "go to the bright future with the OCU" do not need to be afraid and should seek assistance from them.
Taranenko promised full support to such individuals.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the "Metropolitan" of the Cherkasy OCU referred to the turmoil during the seizure of the UOC monastery, which resulted in severe injuries for clergy and parishioners, as the "self-defense of our believers."
