A delegation from the Roman Catholic Church prayed with Patriarch Bartholomew at the Phanar on 30 November 2023, the Greek website Vima Orthodoxias reported.
The Catholic delegation visited the Phanar on the feast day in honour of Apostle Andrew.
In addition to representatives of the RCC, hierarchs of the Churches of Constantinople and Greece, as well as former Ukrainian ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar and Consul General Roman Nedilsky attended the service of the head of the Phanar.
After the dismissal, Patriarch Bartholomew addressed the official delegation of the Roman Catholic Church, already traditionally emphasising the need for Eucharistic unity between Catholics and Orthodox.
Earlier the UOJ wrote that the Pope called on all Christians to celebrate Easter together.
