On December 6, 2023, in the raided St. Nicholas Cathedral of the UOC in the city of Kremenets, Ternopil region, supporters of the OCU staged a "religious community meeting," during which outsiders voted for the transfer of the church to the OCU. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Watch on 'Pershy Kozatsky'".

Participants in the pseudo-assembly were systematically brought to the cathedral by large buses.

Before the vote, the organizers of the event traditionally accused the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of supporting the aggression of the Russian Federation and of "engaging in subversive activities" against Ukraine.

As reported by the UOJ, in February 2023, the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Kremenets-Pochayiv State Historical and Architectural Reserve, refused to renew the lease agreement with the Ternopil Diocese of the UOC for the rental of St. Nicholas Cathedral. The Economic Court of Ternopil Oblast and the Western Appellate Economic Court sided with the reserve.

On November 30, around 6:00 am, the police stormed the cathedral and evicted students of the UOC theological school from its territory.

On December 5, the Supreme Court ordered the UOC to transfer the cathedral to the reserve.
