Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv said that the faithful of the Cherkasy Eparchy, who defend the canonical truth of the Church, will face more trials and provocations but also consolations from the Lord. Vladyka said this after a thanksgiving prayer service at the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Cherkasy – the first public service of the bishop after 8 months of round-the-clock house arrest.

"Our trials are not over yet. We will fight for the Church and we will defend the Church. And we will denounce, if necessary, both those who persecute the Church and those who deviate from the canonical truth of the Church," Metropolitan Feodosiy told the faithful.

"The danger is still looming, you must understand this," the bishop continued. “Because the second criminal case has been opened in Kyiv by the same people. There the courts will consider preventive measures; there may be provocateurs who will organise something that could be presented to the court as a violation of the regime to aggravate the case – we must not relax."

"We must realise that our struggle for the purity of the canonical truth of the Church, for our Church, against persecution is not finished. But the Lord has mercy on us and sends us abundant consolations along the way. And today is the day of such consolation," Metropolitan Feodosiy said.

As reported, on 20 December 2023, the Sosnovsky District Court of Cherkasy lifted the round-the-clock house arrest for the bishop and left only the night restriction, allowing the hierarch to return to full-fledged management of the eparchy and the performance of public religious services.
