Former U.S. President and presidential candidate in the upcoming elections, Donald Trump, commented on the situation in Ukraine during his speech after winning Iowa caucus. The video of Trump's speech was published on The National Desk YouTube channel.

He stated that the situation in Ukraine is "horrible".

"It (the war, – Ed.) should have never happened and would have never happened. The deaths are far greater than people understand. The numbers are far greater tha anyone would even think possible. You're going to find that out in the years to come. When they knock down these massive buildings in Ukraine, and then they announced only two people were slightly wounded, no, no. Many people were killed. We are going to get it stopped but it's so sad because it should have never started," said Trump.

According to him, in addition to a huge number of human casualties, "the culture is destroyed."

"You can never replace thousand-year old buildings with the most beautiful golden domes and churches. Everything is just all rubble," concluded the former U.S. president.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to a statement by the Synod of the UOC, during the war, 119 UOC temples were destroyed, 329 were damaged, 14 priests were killed, 20 were injured, and 5 went missing.
