Varvara, a believer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, said in an address published on the Telegram channel "Lavra Now" that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra will always be a monastery as it was created by the Holy Theotokos.
The Lavra parishioner also congratulated the faithful on the past Feast of the Nativity of Christ and the upcoming Epiphany.
"All this time we have been standing, defending the Lavra and the brethren and we continue to defend it. Since the Mother of God set up this place sacred, it means that years will pass, time will pass, there will still be Orthodox Christians here, there will be monks here and people will pray in the shrine because the Lavra was created only for prayers," she said.
As reported, a parishioner of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra said that people will stand for their shrines to the end.
