UGCC head calls not to turn Armed Forces of Ukraine into an idol

Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the Primate of the UGCC, urged Ukrainians not to turn the Armed Forces of Ukraine into an idol, as one could get quickly disappointed. He made this statement in an interview with UP.
Shevchuk also believes that the Ukrainian people should prioritize God over Ukrainian servicemen. According to the leader of the Greek Catholic Church, the Armed Forces should only receive respect and support.
"In this way, we project exaggerated hopes and expectations onto them," clarified the head of the UGCC.
As reported by the UOJ, in 2023, the UOC donated over 88 million UAH to the Armed Forces and those affected by the war.
