On 23 January 2024, the Economic Court rejected the claim of the Chernihiv Eparchy of the UOC on the extension of the contracts of rent-free use of the Trinity and Transfiguration Cathedrals in Chernihiv, said the Secretary of the Chernihiv Eparchy of the UOC, Fr Ihor Pidan.

The press service of the Ministry of Culture noted that the Chernihiv Eparchy appealed to the court with a claim to oblige the National Reserve "Chernihiv Starodavniy" (“Chernihiv Ancient”) to extend the lease agreements with the UOC for the Transfiguration Cathedral and the complex of architectural monuments of the Trinity Monastery.

As reported, the Transfiguration Cathedral of the UOC in Chernihiv was taken away by the authorities.
