Synod of OCU appoints Avrahamiy Lotysh "bishop of Boryspil"

On February 2, 2024, the OCU Synod elected Archimandrite Avrahamiy Lotysh as the "Boryspil Bishop, Vicar of the Kyiv Diocese". The corresponding decision, made during the synod meeting, was published on the OCU website.

It was noted that Lotysh's candidacy was considered based on the recommendation of the head of the OCU, Serhiy Dumenko.

Furthermore, the Synod appointed Bishop Avrahamiy Lotysh as the "Abbot of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra".

As reported by the UOJ, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra stated that Avrahamiy Lotysh is an employee of the National Reserve receiving a salary.
