The host of Realitatea Plus channel urged Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to respond to the assault on Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny and to take care of the Romanians living in Ukraine. She made this statement in an address published on the page of the Bancheny Monastery on Instagram.

The TV presenter also called on Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu to deliver a note to the Ukrainian Embassy in Bucharest in connection with the brutal assault on the hierarch.

"We protested there twice (near the Ukrainian embassy - Ed.), but we were ignored. Cars with champagne drove up. The ambassador peeked through the curtains at the street, at the protesters, but did not deign to talk to us. He also left unanswered Realitatea Plus's official request... We can protect Metropolitan Longin not only with prayers but also with political decisions," the journalist said.

As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny was assaulted.
