Serhiy (Epifaniy) Dumenko said during a speech in the Chernivtsi Philharmonic that there is no repression against the UOC and its attempts to protect itself in the West harm Ukraine, reports "Molodyi Bukovynets".

He stated that on the part of the UOC he "observes some provocations".

"Because they need to show the whole world that there are certain persecutions and persecution here. In fact, there is no such thing," Dumenko said, emphasising that this is also evidenced by the AUCCRO.

"They do this to harm the Ukrainian state at the international level," said Epifaniy and urged everyone in the Philharmonic to tell acquaintances that the UOC is a "Russian Church", because this was said by the State Ethnopolitics Service (DESS).

Earlier, Dumenko assured the leader of the European Party Manfred Weber that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities aimed at banning the UOC do not violate the rights of believers but are solely a matter of national security.
