On March 5, 2024, SBU officers conducted a search at the place of an outstaffed priest of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC, Archpriest Borys Brodovsky, allegedly because he reposted videos on social media that justified Russian aggression. This was reported by the head of the legal department of the diocese, Archpriest Georgiy Pogranichny.

He said that SBU employees broke into the priest's house early in the morning and began a search there. The head of the legal department also suggested that the priest may have already been charged with "justifying Russian aggression".

"We tried to contact him, but we cannot reach him. Probably, SBU officers took Father Boris's phone. We are already on our way there, we will clarify the situation," said Father Georgiy.

The Cherkasy Diocese noted that Fr. Borys Brodovsky terminated his ministry due to health reasons about 10 years ago. Currently, according to the head of the legal department, the priest is looked after by his wife.

As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Yevlogy of Sumy was charged with "inciting ethnic hatred".
