At a meeting with the heads of the UOC, OCU and UGCC, which took place on April 28, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on religious leaders to send a message to believers to support the resumption of the ceasefire in the Donbass, reports the website of the President of Ukraine.
The President asked for a message that "would be heard throughout Ukraine, in particular in the temporarily occupied territories".
"The President was informed that the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations had issued a separate appeal regarding the 'Easter truce', in which it called on all those with the appropriate competence and authority to lay down their weapons," says the press service of the President of Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Easter "silence" in the Donbass is at the final stage of approval.
The UOJ also wrote that the UOC Chancellor urged everybody to prevent an escalation in the Donbass by all means.
