Volodymyr Viatrovych, former director of the Institute of National Memory, parliamentarian, and one of the initiators of anti-church bills, reacted to the Easter greetings extended to Catholics.
In his Facebook post, the deputy wrote: "I wish we hadn't heard this year: 'Congratulations to those who celebrate today.'"
In 2017, when Viatrovych headed the Institute of National Memory, officials suggested celebrating Christmas as a traditional holiday according to the Julian calendar, on December 25th.
Institute specialists claimed that the new edition resulted from deliberations in the professional expert community and was prepared with the participation of experts from the Reanimation Package of Reforms and other civil society organizations.
As reported by the UOJ, on March 31st, President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Christians who celebrated the Resurrection of Christ on his social media platforms.
