Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the leadership of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine and several Protestant churches, where he called on them to promote Ukraine's interests by representing their faith abroad, according to the DESS website.

"I would like to ask you to communicate not only here, within our country, but also abroad. This dialogue is very important for us now. After all, the church has a great influence on society, on state leaders. And therefore, this is a very important signal of support from our partners," he emphasized.

The Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Evangelical Christians-Baptists, Valeriy Antoniuk, highlighted the importance of religious freedom in Ukraine. He stated that his church participates in prayer breakfasts in the United States, where they have the opportunity to talk about what is happening in Ukraine.

"We must not only continue to advocate for Ukraine but also raise this issue at all possible levels. And we plan to have several more meetings abroad to talk about the real situation in Ukraine. We believe that conveying the truth to the global community is important today. We are not just doing this – it is our pain," Antoniuk noted.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier, Ukrainian MPs received a signal from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to pass bill No. 8371 banning the UOC as quickly as possible in the second reading. Hromadske reported this with reference to its own source.
