DECR informs CEC representatives about UOC’s position on Law 8371

On 10 April 2024, during a meeting with representatives of the Conference of European Churches, Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav told about the position of the UOC on bill 8731.
According to the website of the DECR UOC, "during the meeting we talked about the religious situation in Ukraine, in particular, Metropolitan Augustine conveyed the position of the UOC on draft law No. 8371 to the CEC delegation".
It should be noted that the CEC delegation included: CEC President Metropolitan Nikita of Thyatira and the British Patriarchate of Constantinople, Dr Charles Reid from the Anglican Church; Mrs Maria Mountraki from the Orthodox Church of Finland, members of the "Pathways to Peace" steering group Riika Porkola from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, Dr Jonas Jorgensen from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark, as well as CEC Executive Secretary Frank-Dieter Fischbach and Mrs Catherine Pekrida.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, told representatives of the World Council of Churches that all religious organisations in Ukraine support draft law 8371.
