The Verkhovna Rada, is likely to consider the government bill No. 8371, which effectively bans the UOC, in the second reading in May. Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary faction "Servant of the People" Yevhenia Kravchuk commented on this to Gazeta.ua.

"There were calls to consider it in April. But I think it is more realistic to do so in May. We need to prepare the chamber for the vote. Because such an important bill cannot be just hastily passed," Kravchuk said.

As reported by the UOJ, Chairman of the parliamentary committee on humanitarian and information policy Mykyta Poturaev plans to initiate the adoption of bill No. 8371 before the beginning of summer.

Earlier, the head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, stated, "The FSB has no better agents than those members of the Rada that are attempting to pass this bill."
