Security Service of Ukraine reports suspicion to Metropolitan Arseny

On April 24, 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine reported the suspicion to Metropolitan Arseny of Sviatohirsk under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (dissemination of information about the movement, location, or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the possibility of their identification on the ground). This was reported by the SBU Telegram channel.
According to the law enforcement officers, during the liturgy, Metropolitan Arseny "leaked" the location of the Defense Forces checkpoints to the occupants in the Kramatorsk district of the Donetsk region.
The SBU stated that this was done "covertly". Subsequently, according to the law enforcement officers, this video was published on the Lavra's website and in the local Telegram channel group.
The SBU is confident that "in this way, the cleric attempted to covertly 'leak' to the aggressor the locations of Ukrainian checkpoints in the front-line area."
In addition, the department reported that, according to the investigation, Metropolitan Arseny allegedly "expressed pro-Kremlin narratives about the war in Ukraine even before the full-scale invasion of Russia."
As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Arseny is currently being transported to Dnipro for a court decision on preventive measures.
