The current authorities will not react in any way to the appeal of the believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to President Vladimir Zelenskyy, said Nestor Shufrich, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the “OPZZh” party.

To the question of the “1Kozak” journalist about the results of the action of the UOC faithful aimed  to draw the attention of the authorities to the persecution of the canonical Church, the deputy replied: "I am sure that there will be no result under this government."

MP Nikolai Skorik, in turn, said that when the issue is considered in the parliament, the faction will support the UOC. “We also condemn attempts to raid the objects of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by other confessions and pressure on the clergy of the UOC,” the deputy said.

As reported earlier, Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church believes the schism in Ukraine is a deliberately provoked conflict.
