Politologist to Zelensky: You shouldn't have touched the Tithe Church

Bondarenko believes that the Ukrainian authorities should not have demolished the Volodymyr-Olga Church of the Tithe (Desiatynny) Monastery.

On his Telegram channel, Bondarenko wrote that Zelensky "could have left as a hero – and all his mistakes would have been forgiven" but "by extending his term, he was more concerned with remaining legitimate not so much in the eyes of his own citizens but in the eyes of the West".

President Volodymyr Zelensky "has become indifferent to the majority of those who voted for him in 2019," Bondarenko asserted.

The political analyst believes that the President "has become a hostage to those who made careers and businesses out of the war and who will return to their resource-rich state once the war ends."

"The foundation of his power is those close to the state hierarchy (officials, their families, relatives, and close associates). Professional patriots with Bandera tattoos on their chests and embroidered shirts as work attire – they always self-identify at the last moment to not miss out on which power to praise and which to discard (professional patriots in a political sense are the first candidates to become professional traitors)," Bondarenko wrote.

Bondarenko also mentioned that "nearly all businesses" are in "secret opposition" to Zelensky, along with "hundreds of thousands, millions of those who fear a knock on the door, expecting a summons or a death notice, families of forcibly mobilized individuals," "the majority of local self-government representatives, who are actively opposed by the President's Office" and "supporters of various political parties dissatisfied with the lack of political competition".

Additionally, Bondarenko included the faithful of the UOC, who are persecuted, and those "who feel like dupes, having believed in Zelensky in 2019" in the category of those opposing Zelensky.

"Oh, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, you shouldn't have touched the church near the Tithe Monastery, it’s not a good omen. I tell you this as an experienced mystic," the political analyst concluded.

As earlier reported by the UOJ, Bondarenko believes the arrests of UOC hierarchs are related to a wave aimed at removing Synodals.
