Thousands of UOC believers greet Primate of American Church in Chernivtsi

On June 1, 2024, the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, arrived in Ukraine for an official visit. The Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC published a video on Facebook showing the solemn meeting of His Beatitude Tikhon near the temple dedicated to the Holy Spirit in Chernivtsi.
Thousands of Orthodox believers from Bukovyna and dozens of clergy welcomed the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
His Beatitude was accompanied by Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna.
It is known that Metropolitan Tikhon will visit monasteries and temples of the UOC in a number of western Ukrainian dioceses and will stay in Ukraine until June
As reported by the UOJ, the Primate of the OCA appealed to the U.S. Commission on Religious Freedom because of the UOC.
