On June 20, 2021, ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with Patriarch Bartholomew at Phanar, according to fanarion.blogspot.com.

Exarch of Phanar, Bishop of Coman Mikhail (Anischenko), took part in the festive service in honor of the day of Pentecost in Istanbul, while Petro Poroshenko, Maxim Vdovichenko and the consuls of Greece and Ukraine were present in the church.

The meeting with Poroshenko and his wife took place after the service in the presence of Metropolitan Emmanuel (Adamakis) of Chalcedon. According to Phanariots, "the participants had the opportunity to continue discussing various current issues and the patriarchal visit to Kyiv in August this year."

In turn, Petro Poroshenko, commenting on the meeting with the head of Phanar, wrote in his instagram account that “together with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew they remembered today how the Orthodox Church of Ukraine appeared thanks to joint efforts.”

He also said that he was "looking forward" to the arrival of the head of Phanar to Ukraine to "celebrate together the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

The photo posted by Poroshenko on his Instagram account shows that Rostislav Pavlenko, who actively promoted the granting of the Tomos to the OCU under Poroshenko, also visited Istanbul with the ex-president.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Vladimir Zelensky invited Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine.
