One of the lawyers for Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk, Serhiy Tumanov, announced the completion of the review of the criminal case materials on June 17, 2024, in the Dnipro court, where the prosecution's motion was being considered. This was reported by the Suspilne Donbas website.
"There are three of us lawyers. Today, we completed the review with all the lawyers (Metropolitan Arseniy is defended in court by three lawyers – Ed.). The case materials will go to court tomorrow (June 18 – Ed.). The trial is expected to take place in the Slovyansk court," said Serhiy Tumanov.
The measure of restraint in the form of detention for the abbot of the Sviatohirsk Lavra expires on June 22. According to the lawyer, the court will have to reconsider this matter.
As previously reported by UOJ, Metropolitan Arseniy (Yakovenko) is still in a pre-trial detention center as the collection of evidence in his case continues, and new expert examinations are being initiated.
