On the feast day of St. Onuphrius the Great, Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada sent congratulations to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy on his Name Day, reports the UOC Information and Education Department.

"In the life of the Venerable Onuphrius, Your Beatitude’s heavenly patron and intercessor we read that, during his long years of seclusion in the wilderness, God through an angel provided him with Holy Communion every Saturday and Sunday. This miraculous provision reminds us that God is always present to those who place their trust in him and remain faithful to their calling," the congratulatory message reads.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon wished the Primate of the UOC that the Lord would "reward your trust and faithfulness always strengthen you in your difficult calling as the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church during this troubled time, ever providing Your Beatitude with everything necessary to carry out your lofty archpastoral labor".

The Primate of the Orthodox Church in America fondly recalled their concelebration and fellowship in Chernivtsi a few weeks ago.

"I reassure you of my fraternal love and prayers, as well as the love and prayers of the entire Orthodox Church in America for their brethren in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church," wrote the Archbishop of Washington.

As the UOJ reported, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine was also congratulated on his Name Day by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav.
