President Volodymyr Zelensky participated in a prayer event on the square in front of the Dormition Cathedral at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Statehood and the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus, reports the President's website.
The event was attended by leaders of Ukrainian churches, religious organizations, chaplains, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of the President's Office and his deputies, the leadership of the Security and Defense Forces, and foreign diplomats.
It was reported that the gathering "prayed for victory and a just peace for Ukraine, as well as for protection and blessings for the Ukrainian people and our warriors," according to the President's website.
As the UOJ previously reported, supporters of the OCU were brought to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to participate in public events, and entry to the monastery was allowed only with passports.
