In the Banská Bystrica region of Slovakia, a lightning strike on a church led to the discovery of an ancient treasure, reports Mukachevo.
On July 11, a strong storm swept through the Špania Dolina, during which lightning struck the church, damaging its roof and part of the tower. At the top of the tower, in a metal finial with a cross, a treasure was found – a box with coins from 1858 and two historical documents.
Local residents had heard from their ancestors that there was a treasure buried somewhere in the church, but no one knew the exact location.
As reported previously, during the reconstruction of a building in the French town of Saint-Tropez, previously belonging to the Catholic diocese of Fréjus-Toulon, workers discovered a treasure with sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and a diamond.
